We know this is a worrying time for business owners and we want to provide as much information as we possibly can so you are up to date with the latest Government information.
One area that we are keen to clear up URGENTLY is the deferral of liabilities for those who are self-employed.
This does not mean you can defer your accounts paperwork and VAT returns!
All returns to HMRC and Companies House need to be filed as normal within the set deadlines. Please ensure to submit all your returns on time to avoid late filing penalties.
If, immediately before the filing deadline, it becomes apparent that accounts will not be filed on time due to your company being affected by COVID-19, you may make an application to extend the period allowed for filing. If you do not apply for an extension and your accounts have been filed late, an automatic penalty will be imposed. The registrar has very limited discretion not to collect a penalty.
Please read the Government's advice here: https://www.gov.uk/…/coronavirus-guidance-for-companies-hou…
Please contact us for up to date guidance and keep an eye on our Facebook page for regular updates.
