Chancellor Rishi Sunak has, this afternoon, unveiled a summer economic update designed to mitigate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, with a commitment to encouraging job creation through a government ‘plan for jobs’ and stimulus for consumer spending.

The self-employed income support scheme is opening on Wednesday, 13 May 2020. As long as your business has been adversely affected as a result of Coronavirus and your self-employment makes up more than 50% of your income, then you should be entitled to the taxable support..

During the current Covid19 lockdown parents of newborns are still able to claim child benefit, the universal payment for all children, although they are unable to register their baby’s birth due to the coronavirus pandemic, but remember to factor in the high income child benefit tax charge.
