 Ashmole Apprenticeship 

Ashmole & Co is one of the largest chartered certified accountants in Wales. Our rapidly expanding and modern firm is offering students the opportunity to train with our team as part of our new annual Ashmole Apprenticeship scheme.  
Our Apprenticeship scheme will give you the practical skills and qualifications to become a Trainee Accountant. You will also be given the opportunity to experience a wide variety of client work and specialisms.  
Those joining us straight from school will start on the AAT path to qualifications and those joining us as college / university graduates will usually start on the ACCA qualification route. 
 
To meet our eligibility criteria you will need: 
9 GCSEs at Grade B or above in the majority of subjects (in particular Maths) 
or 
3 A Levels (or equivalent) at grade B or above  
or 
Be studying a degree with a predicted completion grade of 2:2 or above  
or 
hold a degree at grade 2:2 or above 
 
In addition to your job role, you’ll be supported by a dedicated team providing you with high-quality advice and support. You will be supported by a line manager and colleagues who will provide you with guidance and constructive feedback throughout your experience. 
You won't be alone, we already have a number of Trainees at various stages in their learning journey who would be happy to give you their help and advice along the way. 
 
 
 
 

CURRENT TRAINEE OPPORTUNITIES 

Trainee Accountant 

We are a successful and forward-thinking practice in search of four Apprentices to join our team. Many of the existing partners in the practice have trained with firm, which highlights the career prospects. 
 
Job Summary: 
Ensuring all clients are provided with an excellent service, meeting their deadlines, and supporting day to day queries that clients may have. 
You will be part of a team processing clients’ accounts, tax returns, VAT returns and company secretary duties. The role demands accuracy and attention to detail. 
With the support of colleagues, you will ensure the smooth running of clients' accounting systems. 
 
Accountability & Activities: 
Bookkeeping - mainly using Quickbooks, Xero and Sage to perform reconciliations of clients' accounts data to enable production of VAT Returns and management accounts. 
Completing limited company confirmation statements, with the support of colleagues. 
Client contact in regard to day-to-day questions and queries. 
 
Qualifications, Training & Experience: 
· Strong analytical, problem solving and issue resolution abilities with an eye for detail 
· Excellent decision making and judgement skills 
· Excellent written and oral communication skills 
· Proven ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure 
· An organised and flexible approach to work 
· Strong knowledge of Excel and Word; experience of working with financial systems (especially Iris, Quickbooks and Xero) an advantage. 
· Excellent accounting skills including a solid grasp of taxation for individuals and small companies 
· Ability to work in a small team and take ownership of tasks 
 
Education: 
We are looking for school leavers (both at GCSE & A Level) as well as university graduates or are you possibly one of the following: 
1. Already graduated with a 2.2 Hons and above 
2. Individuals who are currently studying for the ACCA or ICAEW qualification; and/or 
3. Individuals who have passed AAT level 3 
 
Training: Fully funded training package offered in addition to basic salary.
