PAYROLL CLERK in our Carmarthen office 

We are currently looking for a Payroll Clerk in our Carmarthen office. Ashmole & Co are one of the largest Chartered Certified Accountants in Wales, a rapidly expanding and modern firm. 
We are looking for either a person who has existing payroll experience or a trainee payroll clerk. The skills required for the role are: 
• Be a team player, but who can also use their own initiative 
• Can cope with a busy environment 
• Have good logical thought processes and numeracy skills 
• Excellent communication skills with both clients and fellow employees 
• Proficient computer knowledge – Understanding of Sage Payroll an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided. 
Responsibilities to include: 
• Process payroll as per clients requirements 
• Maintain payroll records 
• Ensure processes and procedures follow current regulations 
• Respond and resolve queries from clients relating to payroll 
• Calculate wages and deductions 
• Regular usage of payroll systems, including data compilation and input 
• Liaison with HMRC 
• Develop the payroll function to ensure it continues to meet client’s needs 
• Calculate tax and NI commitments 
• Set up and process new employees 
• Check hours and calculate overtime and holiday pay 
• Process relevant paperwork 
• Involvement with special situations such as statutory leave 
• Administer accurate records for new starters and leavers 
• Auto Enrolment pension submissions 
• Construction Industry Scheme monthly submissions 
Salary is commensurate on experience.

Receptionist / PA - Swansea Office 

We are currently recruiting a Receptionist/ Personal Assistant for our Swansea Office, following the retirement of a long standing member of staff. 
You will be responsible for meeting and greeting clients and taking and making phone calls. You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to learn new tasks quickly. 
You will also provide administrative support to the Swansea Office Team and will probably have some experience of Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel. Experience of Xero and/or IRIS practice management would be an advantage, but is not essential as full training will be given. 
This is a full time position. 
Tasks specifically include: 
• Sending mail both electronically and manually, depending on the needs of the client 
• Opening and scanning mail 
• Filing paperwork electronically 
• Opening and maintaining electronic client files 
• Ordering supplies 
• Keeping practice management software updated to assist tracking of jobs through the office 
• Phoning and / or emailing clients to request records 
• Debt collection and invoicing 
• Internal bookkeeping duties 
• Diary management for the partners 
• Ah hoc administrative tasks requested by Partners and Staff

Qualified Accountant/ Part Qualified Accountant - Swansea Office 

We are looking for a Qualified Accountant / Part Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 2 years experience to join our team. There are excellent career prospects for this candidate as our firm continues to grow, and we looking for a person to match our ambitions. 
• Complete year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, LLP’S and Limited Companies using IRIS or similar software. 
• Have a good understanding of VAT and monthly/quarterly accounting procedures for owner managed businesses. 
• Be competent in completion of self-assessment returns and corporation tax returns using IRIS or similar software. 
• Have a knowledge of accounting software to include Sage 50, Kashflow, Quickbooks or Xero. 
• Be at the fore-front of digital technology to give clients access to real time management accounts, which will enable businesses to make informed decisions. 
• Undertake other reasonable business tasks as required within the practice. 
The Successful candidate will be: 
• Qualified or Part Qualified ACA, ACCA or CTA, AAT qualified or qualified by experience. 
• Team orientated, need to get involved and recognise that your personal drive will influence your own and the team’s performance. 
• Able to work to deadlines and have a desire to exceed client’s expectations. 
• Enthusiastic, hardworking and have good communication skills. 
• Attention to detail and good technical competency. 
• Confident in managing own time and workload 
• Comfortable with coaching less experienced staff members 
• A team player 
Part Qualified candidates will be given full support in finalising their aspirations of becoming a Qualified Accountant. Many of the existing partners in the practice have trained with firm, which highlights the career prospects. 
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week. The firm provide extra holidays for long service.
