With all meetings shifting to online over the past 12 months the way we network with other local businesses here at Ashmole & Co has also had to move onto Zoom.
Representing us on the BNI Liberty group is qualified accountant, Christine Daultrey, who is based in our Swansea Office. Christine is up at the crack of dawn every Thursday to virtually meet fellow local members of the BNI from 6.30am.
BNI is the largest business networking organization in the world. It offers members the opportunity to share ideas, contacts and most importantly, business referrals.
BNI provides a structured, supportive, business environment in which local business people can get together to network, learn valuable new marketing skills and develop the strong personal relationships that lead to trust and the consequent generation of significant business for each other.
Christine has worked with us at Ashmole & Co for five years, joining in April 2016. She lives in Alltwen, Pontardawe and is based in our St John’s Court office on Upper Fforest Way Enterprise Park, opposite Bookers Cash and Carry by Llansamlet enterprise park, Swansea.
Representing Ashmole & Co on the BNI over the past 12 months has been an enjoyable new aspect to Christine’s work with the firm.
Rob Vaughan, Partner in our Swansea office said, “Qualified accountants are the lifeblood of our firm. Christine is a valued member of a strong team of 12 in our Swansea office. We have a great mixture of qualified accountants, trainees, support staff, myself and Dave Morgan, Partner.”
Day to day Christine completes the accounts and tax returns for local businesses, she deals with clients’ queries and helps them manage their VAT returns. As an ACCA qualified Accountant she also helps with the training of other staff.
The new government grants and legislation issued sporadically as a result of the pandemic have certainly been a challenge for Christine and the whole team here at Ashmole & Co to keep on top of this past 12 months. Christine said, “The speed and amount of changes made to financial legislation took us all by surprise and we had to understand these changes quickly to be able to give the best advice to our clients. It has been very rewarding, however, to be able to help guide clients to the funding available to them.”
Before starting with Ashmole & Co Christine worked for a printing company based in Llansamlet. She started in the Sales department but took an opportunity to join the Accounts department. This is where her love for accountancy started and she began to gain all the necessary qualifications. She qualified with an accountancy practice in Bridgend where she worked for four years. She then moved to Hammond & Davies accountants before it was acquired by Ashmole & Co.
Christine spends her spare time with her partner, Phill, and they enjoy walking their three dogs – Fred, Jess and Stan.
