We are delighted to announce a number of exam successes for our staff, in particular Gemma Williams, in our Carmarthen office, who has completed her studies and passed all her exams to become a qualified member of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).
Gemma, who lives in Carmarthen, has been working in our Carmarthen office for the past five years, since September 2014. She started studying for her ACCA qualification through the University of South Wales and recently through self-study.
Gemma studied Accountancy at Coleg Ceredigion and has worked in accountancy related positions for the last ten years. At Ashmole & Co she specialises in helping sole traders, partnerships and limited companies with their accounts, VAT returns, payroll, Sage and Xero bookkeeping as well as drafting tax returns.
Sharon George, Partner in Ashmole & Co’s Carmarthen office said, “We are very proud of Gemma’s achievement, she’s worked extremely hard to gain her qualifications, especially juggling her studying by herself with working full time. It is important as a profession that we help to train the next generation of accountants. Qualified staff members are the lifeblood for the future success of our firm.”
Sharon continued, “As a firm of rural accountants we are also keen to ensure all our staff have been trained to be able to offer the best help and advice to our farming clients, especially on how to adapt to making digital tax returns. Making Tax Digital is part of the Government’s plans to make it easier for individuals and businesses to get their tax right and keep on top of their affairs. Here at Ashmole & Co we have ensured our systems and staff are all A grade when it comes to making this switch.”
During the summer a number of staff have achieved exam successes including Vinal Patel and Sam Jones in the firm’s Ammanford office who have passed exams on the way to becoming ACCA members. Rhydian Fox, in the Swansea office, has passed exams to become qualified ACCA members aswell as Nicola Luke-Evans and Caryl Bevan in the Haverfordwest office. Zoe Rodgers in Haverfordwest, has passed exams at AAT level with Distinction and Dewi Davies in the Carmarthen office has passed his exams on the way to become qualified ACCA.
