We are delighted to announce that Trainee Accountant, Gareth Thomas, in the Ammanford office, has recently passed his AAT Level Four exam and is now starting his studies towards his ACCA full professional status.
Gareth, who lives in Ammanford, joined the Ashmole & Co team as a Trainee Accountant in April 2019. He did maths, further maths and physics A Levels at Amman Valley High School before attending Swansea University to study Mechanical Engineering but decided that that wasn’t the career he wanted to pursue so started studying with Coleg Sir Gar for his AAT Level Three before starting with Ashmole & Co.

As a Trainee Accountant Gareth prepares the accounts for various sole traders, partnerships and Ltd companies. He assists with the running of the VAT department and helps with clients’ queries.

Laura Craddock, Partner in Ashmole & Co’s Ammanford office said, “We are proud of the hard work Gareth has put into his qualifications since he started with us. It is important as a profession that we help to train the next generation of accountants. Qualified staff members are the lifeblood for the future success of our firm. Covid19 has been an added pressure for Gareth starting in his new position but he has taken on that extra challenge and is managing everything really well.”

Gareth said, “I am grateful to Ashmole and Co, who are one of the most established and largest teams of chartered, certified accountants and auditors in south and west Wales, for giving me this opportunity to continue learning whilst working. It fills me with great pride when clients are grateful for my work and senior staff acknowledge when I do a good job on a set of accounts and recognise my progress.”

When he is not working Gareth enjoys playing golf and meeting friends for a drink. During lockdown however he relaxes by watching Netflix!
