Chancellor announces aid for self employed

Self employed people do not need to get in touch with HMRC about the support scheme as it is not open yet for applications.
HMRC will contact eligible customers by the beginning of June inviting them to apply.
According to Martin Lewis, the money expert, Self Employed Directors can be furloughed. This should reassure a lot of worried directors as he claims they will now receive 80% of their normal pay and their salary will be refunded in the form of a grant from HMRC. We should be clear however that this relates to salary and NOT dividends.
