Ashmole & Co offices in Neath and Swansea have made a generous donation to the Vernon Place Community Hub Food Bank in Briton Ferry to help those fighting hunger and hardship in the run up to Christmas.
Tins of soup, packs of pasta, boxes of cereal, toilet rolls, nappies and other essentials worth approximately £200 were amongst the items donated to help towards supporting those who need a little bit of help at the moment. The items will be used to help those currently experiencing hardship.

Dave Morgan, Partner in Ashmole & Co’s Neath and Swansea offices, said, “We are always keen to support other local businesses and causes. When I suggested to staff that we could help by making a donation to the local food bank they were very keen to assist. We all appreciate this is a difficult time for many.”

Vernon Place community hub is a former primary school. Following the school’s closure the trustees are now leasing the building to provide community activities. The hub allows other community-based organisations to hold activities at the hub such as playgroups, youth clubs, social clubs, exercise classes. They also now have the food bank for Briton Ferry.

Melanie Merret runs the Briton Ferry food bank. She said, “With these donations we are able to reach out to more people in need especially at this festive time. The use of food banks is on the increase and we rely on donations such as these.”
