Qualified / Part Qualified Accountant 

Ashmole and Co has immediate vacancies for both Qualified and Part-Qualified Accountants in our office based on the Swansea Enterprise Park. The successful candidates should have experience of working within an accountancy practice. 
 
This is an opportunity to join one of the largest Chartered Certified Accountants in Wales, a rapidly expanding traditional firm with a modern approach. There are excellent career prospects for successful candidates who have the ability to match our ambitions. 
 
The main responsibilities will be as follows: 
Complete year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies using IRIS and Xero. 
Complete self-assessment and limited company tax return forms 
Dealing directly with clients in answering basic queries on a daily basis 
Assist with the transition to Making Tax Digital 
Manage and oversee VAT returns and accounts prepared by less experienced members of the team 
Assist with training staff to ensure that the office runs as efficiently as possible 
Undertake other reasonable business tasks as required within the practice. 
 
The Successful candidates will be: 
Qualified or Part Qualified ACA, ACCA, CTA or qualified by experience 
Proficient in using cloud based accounting software packages such as QuickBooks, Sage and Xero 
At ease with use of Microsoft Excel and Word 
Able to work to deadlines and have a desire to exceed clients’ expectations 
Able to work on an individual basis as well as part of a team 
Able to assist other members of staff as and when required 
Confident in managing a large portfolio of clients 
Enthusiastic, hardworking and have excellent communication skills 
Able to demonstrate attention to detail and good technical competency 
 
Part Qualified candidates will be given full support in finalising their aspirations of becoming a Qualified Accountant.

We currently have a vacancy for the position of a VAT and Book keeping Clerk in our Haverfordwest office. 
 
We are looking for either a person who has existing VAT/Bookkeeping experience or a trainee VAT/Bookkeeping clerk. The skills required for the role are: 
 
• Be a team player, but who can also use their own initiative 
• Can cope with a busy environment 
• Have good logical thought processes and numeracy skills 
• Excellent communication skills with both clients and fellow employees 
• Proficient computer knowledge – Understanding of Sage 50, Xero and Microsoft Office (Excel) is an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided.

Job Title- Practice / HR Manager 
Location- Haverfordwest based, with visits to other Ashmole offices over South / West Wales 
Reports to- The Partners 
Hours- Full or Part time position (hours to be agreed) 
Pay Rate- Remunerate with experience 
 
Job Summary- 
This is a new role due to expansion and the desire for a fresh approach to HR and management within the practice. Responsibility for the efficient running of the practice and maintaining a committed team. Key roles to include: 
 
• Recruiting, interviewing, induction of new staff 
• Manage contract of employment to ensure up to date with current legislation 
• Managing leave process 
• Implement and monitor policies 
• Ensure practice complies with all aspects of Health & Safety at Work 
• Performance Management 
• Facilitate employee engagement 
• Assist in training to support staff development 
• Introduce operational efficiencies 
• Maintain and improve quality 
• Assist in debt recovery 
• Mentor other staff to develop leadership skills 
• Carry out appraisals and manage/deal with outcomes raised 
• Deal with complaints (internal and/or external) 
• Deal with client information in a sensitive and confidential manner 
• Support the identification and management of risk 
• Support equality, diversity and rights of staff and clients

Payroll Clerk at our Haverfordwest office

We are looking for either a person who has existing payroll experience or a trainee payroll clerk. The skills required for the role are: 
 
• Be a team player, but who can also use their own initiative 
• Can cope with a busy environment 
• Have good logical thought processes and numeracy skills 
• Excellent communication skills with both clients and fellow employees 
• Proficient computer knowledge – Understanding of Sage Payroll an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided. 
 
Responsibilities to include: 
• Process payroll as per clients requirements 
• Maintain payroll records 
• Ensure processes and procedures follow current regulations 
• Respond and resolve queries from clients relating to payroll 
• Calculate wages and deductions 
• Regular usage of payroll systems, including data compilation and input 
• Liaison with HMRC 
• Develop the payroll function to ensure it continues to meet client’s needs 
• Calculate tax and NI commitments 
• Set up and process new employees 
• Check hours and calculate overtime and holiday pay 
• Process relevant paperwork 
• Involvement with special situations such as maternity pay 
• Administer accurate records for new starters and leavers
