Trainees are the lifeblood of Ashmole & Co accountancy firm which has offices throughout south Wales. Harvey Collins recently started with the Swansea team as a Trainee Accountant after qualifying from Swansea University earlier this year.
Harvey, who lives with his family in Swansea, gained A Levels in Accounting, Business Studies and Economics at Gower College. He then went on to study Accounting & Finance at Degree level which he achieved First Class Honours.
During Harvey’s studies he obtained work experience with Ashmole & Co and then went on to apply for a full time Trainee position through the Apprenticeship Scheme earlier this year.
Ashmole & Co are encouraging those currently studying for a degree or A Levels to consider a future career in accountancy. The firm can offer students work placements whilst they are studying as well as the opportunity to apply for next year’s Apprenticeship scheme which opens for applications in February 2024.
As a Trainee Accountant, day to day, Harvey completes various tasks relating to audit, personal and business Tax returns and VAT returns for local individuals, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

Harvey said, “I’m grateful to Ashmole & Co for giving me the opportunity to join the team as a trainee. The most rewarding part of my job is putting what I have learnt from my previous studies into practice. I am also gaining lots of experience whilst developing my knowledge and ability.”
When he’s not studying or working Harvey enjoys watching football, playing tennis and spending time with his family.
